A camp of Scouts & Guides was organized with the permission of Mrs. Shanta Seth, Chief Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides, H. P. in school campus of Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, Nahan w.e.f. 15-03-08 to 20-03-08. Forty three boys and nineteen girls joined the camp as Scouts & Guides. The Scouts Master & Guides Captain of the school Mr. Gulshan Ahmed and Mrs. Sonia Garg were with them. The trainers were Mrs. Vijay Sharma D. O. C. (Guides Wing), Dr. Sanjeev Attri D. O. C. (Scouts Wing), Mrs. Harkesh Sharma Guides Captain. The opening ceremony of the camp was held on 16th March in the evening. The chief guest for the opening was Mrs. Neena Kaushik Deputy Director of Education.

In the camp all the Scouts & Guides started their day with their routine work at 5.00 AM by going on morning walk and B. P. exercises. Perfect discipline was there all around during all the activities. They learnt flag hoisting, horse shoe arrangement, conduction of morning assembly, drill, March past, history of Scouts & Guides, proper wearing of uniform, arrangement of different patrols. Different competitions were organized to develop their personality like declamation, drawing, extempore, cultural event, room arrangement etc. All the activities were conducted according to the ROTA Chart. All the Scouts & Guides took part in all the activities with full enthusiasm. They went on trekking to Ambwala on March 18th which is about 7 kms from Nahan. There they conducted surveys on various topics like Female Foeticide, Cleanliness, Environment, and Effects of Cable TV which were assigned to them. They learnt mutual cooperation, understanding, and discipline, respecting their elders and teachers during all these activities. During the nights they enjoyed camp fire by sharing their thoughts, ideas, skills, talents.

The closing ceremony of the camp was conducted on 19th March. The Deputy Commissioner of district Sirmaur, Mr. Pushpendra Rajput was the Chief Guest along with Mrs. Neena Kaushik, Deputy Director of Education as the Guest of Honour. Everyone appreciated the efforts of students and their trainers, teachers. They also lauded the efforts of Mrs. Shanta Seth for permitting the school to organize Scouts and Guides camp. It is to be mentioned here that Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, Nahan is the First Private School in Himachal Pradesh to organize such a camp. The Principal of the school Sr. Mariella C. T. C. honoured all the distinguished guest and trainers. The Certificates and Pravesh badges were presented to all the Scouts & Guides by the honourable Chief Guest. The camp was closed on 20th March by offering all faith prayer.
